All Politics Aside - Bring Back Variety Shows

Come on people! You know that you always had a favorite. Mine was The Carol Burnett Show.

There were many others. Andy Williams, Sonny & Cher, Jackie Gleason, Dean Martin, Glen Campbell, Flip Wilson, Donny & Marie, The Smothers Brothers, Hee Haw. The Starland Vocal Band even had a short lived variety show.

I loved these shows. I wish they would come back!

I must confess, I loved the Andy Williams Show, and the song Moon River... I also loved the Red Skeleton Show

Sonny & Cher was my favorite. It was on at 7PM on Wednesday nights.

Carol Burnett was also a fav. The Smothers Bros were before my time. Hee Haw? Hated it!

Smothers Brothers was always my favorite. I clearly remember watching the Who play "I Can See For Miles" on that show.

Overall I think the world is better off without them. Each had it's moments of real entertainment but for me on balance the shows seemed to feed public apathy more than simply providing a bit of Vaudeville in the glowing blue box.

Or are you including Benny Hill, if you're including Benny Hill the I'd say that was GREAT!

Wreckoning Force, I hope everything is OK with you... haven't heard from your post in sometime.

If you just don't feel like posting, just give a "I'm Ok" every once in awhile.
